	The [[Phyreans]], since the era of the [[Duumvirate of Phyrea and Krasnia]], have had a quite complex onomastic history. Before this era, until the end of the [[First Phyrean Empire]], Phyrean names consisted of a name and a patronymic. With the reforms put in place by King [[Piarfant a Hynfl]], people were now separated into 144 groups of families called ''clans'', with 68 reserved for the original families of [[Caladae]], 36 reserved for high-status families, all of whom ethnically Phyrean or [[Darsavians\|Darsavian]], and 40 for minor ones, who belonged to different ethnolinguistic groups such as [[Nademics]]. Thus arose the ''clan name'', a consistent lineage name passed down through the male line, usually based on the name of an ancestor.
