Teelian (Teelu Köhe [ˈte:lu køˈwe]) is an East Kivic language spoken throughout the Teelian Archipelago, descended from Old Teelian and therefore closely related to Raigu, and more distantly to Yuren. It is thought to have originated in the northern islands of the archipelago and spread southward through the expansion of the Teelians. It contains a significant number of loanwords from Proto-Vugotic, which entered the language with the arrival of the Vugonesians in 1000 BNB, and from Doli, which entered during the expansion of the Bahlian Empire c. 140 BNB. Today it is spoken by nearly 8 million people as a first language, mostly within Teel, where it is the official language.
