The information displayed in this article pertains to the continuity of Moonsong. As such, the wording may seem more flowery than normal. This is intentional.

This is a timeline of the history of Álm.

I Cycle II Cycle III Cycle IV Cycle

I Cycle

I Era

  • 0 s: the æther is born from the nothingness and creates a massive explosion.
  • 1,618033 s: The æther creates the first order forces of ice and thunder, the entire universe crystallises, and within the crystals of ice electricity bounces about
  • 24 min: Ice and thunder have their first exalting interaction, bringing in a universal storm that brings about the second order forces of water and fire.
  • 1,2 hr: Water and fire have their first exalting interaction, purifying the world and creating the third order forces of air and soil, which go on to become the sky and the ground.
  • 4 days: Air and soil have their first exalting interaction, creating life in the form of microscopic organisms that dwell the infinite sea that has formed, called the bacteria.
  • 6 days: The æther begins flowing along the sea currents, and where they concentrate the most the first æons are formed. At this stage the moon begins to form, but its development is quickly stopped due to unknown circumstances. It begins floating aimlessly over the sea, moved by no conscience of its own but by the flow of the æther.

II Era

  • 50 y: A mass of luminous bacteria converges on a small island, having harnessed their innate talent to create energy, becoming a strange gigantic colonial organism emanating light and heat. This is the Tower. The bacteria around the Tower begin evolving at a rapid rate, eventually creating a large ecosystem of primordial talent-imbued organisms. The moon enters its vicinity and begins its current orbit atop the lit up areas of early Álm.
  • 2 000 000 000 000 y: The Aa come into being, generated from the Tower itself. They begin to spread all over Álm.

III Era

  • 2 000 000 500 000 y: The Peak of Life takes place, and Aa begin to greatly diversify during this time.

II Cycle

The II Cycle begins 5000 years after the Peak of Life.

I Era

  • 1: The danar are born; a primate ilk influenced by the air, the soil, and the light of the Tower, and imbued with high talent.

II Era

  • 342: The danu queen Lávla the Conqueror leads her followers of the Ring of Undern into the Ring of Noontide and founds the League of Gold, believing her and her people superior to the danar living further away from the Tower.
    • In their arrogance they wage war against the more distant danar.
    • The danu diverge significantly from this point forward.
      • Those under Lávla become the golden danar, corrupted by the high talent of the Tower into arrogance and megalomania.
        • They execute all the men and become a woman-led society, reproducing through thaumaturgy.
      • Those driven out by the golden danar form two groups.
        • The ones who manage to remain in Danadur, albeit on the other side of the mountain range, become the adanar.
        • Those who spread into the rest of the lands lose their innate talent and become the humans.

III Era

III Cycle

The III Cycle begins after year 2241 of the II Cycle.

I Era

  • 1: The Draconic Exodus takes place, and gives way to the kin of the drakes, spread all around the world, the only ones to be able to resist the temptation of the Tower’s light. They subdivide themselves in castes:
    • Those of high inner talent become the naqushah
    • Those of low or average inner talent become the bashah
  • 26: The almur of Almadur form the High Kingdom of Almadur with its capital at Twelve Sons, beginning a war of conquest and spreading all over the continent of Andinor. By doing this, they exile and discriminate the vidur and brunns. In retaliation, these form the Médrigan, an alliance and movement of anti-oppression through military retaliation, which spreads from the shores of the Vid sea.
  • 92: The Médrigan is defeated by the High Kingdom of Almadur, and a genocide of vidur ensues. These flee further out into the Night, where the almur can't reach them. The brunns retreat beyond the Arðifer mountains.

II Era

  • 98: Danu queen Mterbia IX denies the High Kingdom of Almadur their request for an alliance, instead launching a series of attacks along the Hadr sea shore as a form of intimidation. King Liómar III is killed during one of these attacks, and, being without sons, a power vacuum forms. The High Kingdom collapses into smaller states soon after, and the danar retreat. This event is known as the Weeks Without Reason.

III Era

IV Cycle

The IV Cycle begins after year 852 of the III Cycle.

I Era

  • 1: Long distance sailing and colonisation begin.
