Lands of Limestone and Chalk
The information displayed in this article pertains to the continuity of Moonsong. As such, the wording may seem more flowery than normal. This is intentional.

The Lands of Limestone and Chalk are a fortified "city" of tall, weathered buildings made of, appropriately, limestone and chalk, at the far towerward end of the Darran isles. These buildings were created by the Spirit of the Glen, a lesser Æon, with the purpose of serving as a sort of shell for its meek, luminous body, residing deep within the highest tower. The Spirit continues to threaten the inhabitants of the isles, as it desires to cover more of its surface with its domain. To prevent this, people are brought from every settlement on the Kingdom of Darran as sacrifices, providing the Spirit with more noch to protect its walls.
Inner workings
Spirit of the Glen
The Spirit of the Glen is a lesser Æon characterised by its need for self-preservation. It is unknown what originated it, or where it ultimately came from, but it has lodged itself at the very top of a self-built limestone tower, and built halls and rooms around it, like veins and arteries which guide its shadowy servants along. It holds no malice, no contempt for anything, but still threatens the lives of the inhabitants of Darran with its need for expansion and protection.
Orrons

The Lands are protected by towering chimeric beasts, the orrons, with the head and body of a large cat, the feathers and wings of a hawk, and the intelligence of a crow, along with horns; two above the eyes and one on the nose. They are typically solitary beings and frequently fight for territory, a behaviour that naturally creates smaller areas which they fiercely protect.
Noch

The noch (pronounced akin to loch) are silent but highly intelligent anthropomorphic beings made of pure darkened æther. They are the trapped spirits of people sacrificed to the Spirit of the Glen, and sparsely populate the vast halls and corridors of every building. All of them seem intent in serving the Spirit, capturing people who wander into the Lands and putting them in coffins to be made into more noch.
